Will have to start smoking roll ups again!

 My brain thinks that20 Benson & Hedges were 6/8 when I stopped smoking, but I was about 22, and we'd already gone decimal, so it must have been about 38p, which I thought was dear. For the days I was feeling poor there was always the dreaded No 6 at 1/3 the price, but with good reason.

Going back to Wansey's storage solution, tobacco tins stack and pack well, but have the disadvantage that you can't see what's in them. I have a couple of things like this on Jazzcat

Cheapy ones like mine turn up from time to time in Aldidl

That’s as maybe but On a French Dufour 24 I think I would cut a dash with a roll up hanging off my owner lip in a stripped jersey🤔

If you want to go for the French look, avoid roll-ups. You need Gauloises, Disque Bleu or Gitanes.

Will certainly cut a dash, but not help with the storage tin quest.

Are you planning to go the whole French hog, and affect that insouciant air (and lack of fenders) when docking, etc?

My big concern with those containers ……total disaster if the contents cascade into the bilge(what there is of it)🙁

With mine, the handle is part of the top and the bottom, so little danger of it coming open when I pick it up., but it lives in a shallow locker so, while a PITA, it wouldn't be a disaster if that did happen.

I really miss the old 35mm film containers for screws, split pins & bits that might come in handy etc.
Regarding roll ups, in The Grapes of Wrath, Tom Joad was advised to take up smoking because the act of rolling cigarettes was a good way to make social connections. is that still valid?

Since cigarettes started costing a pound each, much of the social aspect of “bumming a fag” has disappeared, so I’m told.

35mm film manufacturing has been ramping back up for several years. You may not like the cost of those containers either, but developers may give them away free as they used to.
