Finally got round to sorting the piccies, and even sewing together a bit of video (not up to Nathan's standard I'm afraid).
We jumped abaord a train at Ipswich at 05.50, having driven down the previous evening. Mainline & tube to Chichester, was a lot less stressful than I'd anticipated (it's been a while since I used the rail system). Picked up at Chichester station by John, the outgoing owner, and transported to the marina. We'd driven down the previous weekend to drop off the rations and bags, so just a matter of slipping the moorings and off we go:
The extra crewman is Alisdair, a friend of ours who decided that he was coming for the trip, and for whose help and guidance we are extremely grayeful.
Phots of us leaving Chi courtesy of Chris and John.
Chi Trots
Out at sea after Boulder heading for Newhaven
A Belgian, who stayed ahead of us and then dived into Brighton
Moored in Newhaven
The yacht ahead of us had been brought in by the lifeboat, after what turned out to be an eight hour nightmare from Eastbourne, original destination Brighton. We had mostly F5 on our beam, but up to F6 in the late afternoon. He reckoned he was only 500m short of Seaford beach with something round his prop when he was towed off /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Up at 04.15 to catch the 10 hour tide up the coast to Ramsgate, slipped at 04.45, moored Ramsgate 17.15. I'd have never maintained that sort of pace on Limbo /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Sunrise Seaford Head
Beachy Head
Eastbourne
We'd originally planned to have a rest day on the Saturday in Ramsgate, but it was rammed full , there'd been a cross channel rally from Belgium. The forecast was ok, we'd had a very comfortable trip, so legged it for Harwich while most of you lot were in Ostend. Even heard D3B giving the CG his safety details as he was leaving Felixstowe. I presume he'd checked his filler caps on the way Out /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Finally, bit of video.

Hope you enjoy, we have a beautiful boat. Something tells me I'm going to be a very poor man from now on /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
