Wifi to Wifi router - suggestion needed

Hi,
My marina has pretty decent wifi (that I have to pay for and log into), the only issue is that I can only have one device connected and logged-in at any one time.

Ideally I'd like a Wifi to Wifi router so I can have a Wifi hotspot (ideally with a network port) that I can connect all my devices too at the same time and the wifi to wifi router will manage the single connection allowed to the outside world.

I found this that may do the job but I'm not 100% sure? (http://uk.tp-link.com/products/details/cat-5090_TL-WR802N.html ).

Have also seen other camping/boating/caravan kits that include an external high power antenna. I don't really need the external antenna, just a magic box of tricks to be a wifi-wifi router

I realise I could share the wifi using my laptop but really want a box that I can leave on pretty much permanently.

Any suggestions from those who are more tech savvy...

Surely just speak to the service provider (the marina) and ask them to allow multiple devices - it's no skin off their nose if you have one or ten devices connected

I'm not sure that you can share the wifi internet connection being received by your laptop with other devices over wifi unless you have two wifi interfaces in your laptop.

What's wrong with using a normal WiFi extender? Amazon has hundreds. Some have network ports as well.

Any reason why you need more than one device plugged into the interweb? Personally, I love being away from it.

Don't sue me if I'm wrong but if you check out section 2.2.2 of the manual you may find that "hotspot router mode" is what you want. Note a couple of things:
- it seems to be £15 in currys/pc world, cheaper than amazon
- There's a new version, the 902ac with 802.11ac wireless which is about £35

You may hopefully have found a solution by now, but they do work pretty well. The issue you will have is if there is a login page for the WiFi, like there is in the marina my boat is in, you will find it is likely session / cookie based so that it expires after a while, precisely to stop this kind of connectivity. If its plain old WiFi, with just an SSID and password, that is a different matter and you should be fine.

Not sure if I'm answering question properly but I've just bought huewi mifi from Currys for £15 with an enormous data package for £20pmonth. Might try and jailbreak it to use even better data packages.

You can use on those cheap mini travel routers like the GLI MT300A for about £30 from Amazon. Great little device, but better than that is the MicroTick Groove AC. This is closer to £80 (Amazon) but is a fantastic device. It's what I use to pickup wifi signals when at anchor in the med. It lives outside zip tied to a stanchion.

Pair that a standard basic router and you should be good to go.

I have the same problem - I want to use a nowtv box on my boat while in the marina but the wifi on offer there has a username and password login page instead of just a code and the nowtv box doesn't support this. I've been trying to find a router that supports a wifi with username and password and then connect the nowtv box to that but haven't had much luck so far.

You may have to clarify how you imagine your marina's wifi system works and why it wouldn't work with a NAT router.

Certainly sticking all your devices behind a NAT router just as the OP is considering works with every marina wifi system I've so far encountered (including Premier's)

I've confirmed that the WR802N is indeed a few pennies under £15 in my local currys/pc world. Not quite as cheap as chips. Not even the triple-cooked belgian-style hipster chips which I went and bought after looking at the router. But still pretty cheap.

I use mobile phone as a hotspot, works well I have 30Gb I month Inc tethering

Very interesting thread and we may want something similar to link in 2 laptops, two phones, one notebook and a wireless printer, this latter being my main reason to need one. Our HP Envoy printer links to HP online for monitoring ink supplies and remote printing from phones if ever needed.

Any modern router should direct you to that login page when you try to connect. I know both my GMA300 and MicroTick do. Sometimes its a login page, sometimes its one of those 'like us on Facebook' things, other times it's a page to click on ads before being allowed free wifi. I've experienced a lot of them cruising Spain.
