Wifi hot spot locations

I suspect that within the next 12 months or so all marinas worth their salt will have it and a directory will be barely necessary. I'm sitting in the cockpit in Haapsaalu, Estonia, enjoying the WiFi at the moment.
 
There is WiFi in the marina port vell, Barcelona, but it's from movistar and is horrendously expensive!

Newport, R.I. at anchor. $6 for 24 hr unlimited. Beufort. N.C. also at anchor, free. Have found dozens of places on the US. E. coast with free or very reasonable WI-Fi. If all else fails just pack up the laptop and head ashore. Just about every place has some coffee shop or hotel that you can get on line for nothing.

Northney Marina Chichester Harbour - iZone good signal currently free access

Cherbourg - plenty of hot spots but couldn't connect, no info available from Capitanerie

St Peter Port - Victoria Marina SSID VICTORIA001 password provided by marina staff free access. Good signal also on holding pontoon but unable to connect as the server had hung needed a reset

Weymouth - In harbour moored outside RDYC unknown provider good signal free access, also iZone

Yarmouth - Nothing in range
 
Yup, at the moment I'm using the open free connection in Wasahamen in Stockholm /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
 
ive noted that!im in hornstull and will stay untill it stops raining or another week!
im useing a pda and gprs but im sure there are open connections hear as well but i cant charge my pda battery so im just checking email and weather
if you dont know this part of Stokholm its got good cafes and resturants that seve good food a lunch with salad main meal desert glass fatoil(beir) or vin and coffee 45kyrone! and its well done
others offer good snake very good coffee(12) good cake 12/14!
good shopping its just good area
if i dident have a mast there are really central places
there was another fb anchord for a few days near "orien" on skeppsholmen!! not bad an very central!

im not staying there becouse its too expensive has wash from mobos and still have to pay to charge my pda! how long are you staying?
i think its great hear far better than all those islands with trees and ticks or rocks only !
 
Nope, it wasn't us, we're in a dark blue Contessa 32, Wild Call, flying the red ensign. We'll keep an eye out for your folkboat - what ensign & name?

Agreed that Wasahamnen is extremely expensive at 24 Euro, but very central and that's with electricity and free WiFi throw in, so save the 6 Euro an hour on the latter. We were going to stay somewhere priced a bit more reasonably, but in the end the g/f was keen to be in the centre and I weakened...

My folkboat is a white one built 1946 wood! and flying the red ensign name "astrix"
Im staying hear untill the weekend as the folkboat club wants me to join,the person looking after this section just left for sandham which i dident want to visit just now again theyii be back in 3days so i said id rather wait in these fleshpots than those of the new rich mobo in sandham

i haven't heard from you so you may be going/gone when i get there,so i wont be there for 10.30 as by foot yor almost as far from the center that i am,thats an hours walk i suppose including getting lost!

If your tempted to visit the shop on the island oposit you skeppsholman be aware of the prices i wanted a large grapnel for town anchorages they asked just over 3 times the price i paid in a chandeler!!so very variable

im really enjoying stokholm yesterday i was brought kassler potatoes and beens to eat id just finnished that when another family arrived with hamburger sauce potatoes and bier!Which had to be eaten while hot!
i suppose they they think i must be very badly off having to live on a folkboat!
just in the time to compose this its clouded over and cooled,so i will change from shorts to jeans and pullover!hope it dosent rain?
 
Hi, sorry I didn't get a chance to reply, I was off among the islands. Now at Nykoping, incidentally the WiFi is free here too /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I'm off for a few days but when I get back will be milling about among the east coast islands in the Skargard.
