Wide sailing shoes

Yes, the season is with us and the thorny question of ill fitting sailing shoes has to be faced. Has anyone found and sailing shoes for the wider foot? I've tried loads. Musto boots work, but I can't wear outsize Musto boots and thick socks in July.
 
dubarry do wider fittings - if you can get the supplier to get them. Chandlery at Port Solent has offered to get the boats for me in a wider fitting.

I find the boating shoes in Marks and Spencer to be a wider fitting than most, but normally have to try several on before I find a suitable pair.
 
I have wide feet too - I can't get into Musto / Dubarry boots but find that the Quaysiders are better.

For sailing shoes it is less of an issue - the traditional soft mocassin type tends to have enough flexibility to mould itself to your foot after a few wearings. My Dubarry clippers were also an excellent fit out of the box
 
Thanks. I'll try emailing Dubarry. It's that or go sailing in a pair of G fitting Church's brogues. Quatsiders do eventually fit but I have to wear them so loose at first they're in danger of creating a shoe overboard drill.

West Marine in the USA do Sperry Topsider trainer syle deck shoes in both medium and wide fitting from stock. They are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn and so far have lasted over 4 years so the pair I bought 2 years ago on a visit have yet to be used, and yes the price is still the same! I ordered a pair on a Thursday via the internet and they arrived the following Monday, cost from West Marine $79.99 (about £42) as opposed to £124 quoted from Force 4 with 3 months delivery... I was not even charged the VAT and the post was around $10 but with other goods as well. Can't sat about designer boots but on the very rare occasions I need them I wear French Aigle brand rubber shorties which are excellent especially as they cost under £25, I find them wide enough for me even though I cannot wear the UK mediums in sailing shoes.
 
Don't forget USA sizes are different from ours, I think there is a size chart page on their website. I take a size 10 here and all my many USA bought shoes are generally 11W or if medium width 11.5M.

See here for the wide deck shoes. BTW they are most non-slip ones I've ever owned.

Not specifically sailing shoes but I also bought some very nice soft nubuck leather boat shoes from Wal-Mart for $22 (say £12) that I wear every day pretty well but I don't know if they would stand up to salt water soaking. When they get nearly worn out I might just give them a test, as I already have another as yet unworn pair in stock waiting to be called to duty. Ever get the feeling our UK prices are a tad on the rip-off side?
 
I've had quite a few pairs that have seemed comfortable at first, then start pinching when it's too late to return them. Best (most comfortable) are an old pair of TBS, made in France and bought at Southampton Boat Show.
 
I got a pair of Offshore Boots ($49.99) mail order from West Marine in the US. Great price, even after paying the VAT and Duty.

They are a very wide fit so I imagine shoes from there would be equally wide.
