Why??

I'm sat on the Solent enjoying a lovely days fishing. Except for one thing.
I keep getting this annoying message pop up on my MFD. please see pic. It goes off every 4-5 minutes and has been doing so for the past 3.5 hrs.
Why am I getting this?? Any ideas as its doing my head in now!! ?

Was it a second hand unit and the previous owner had an epirb linked to it? Either that or its picked up an epirb transmission from somewhere, then lost it.
You may gather here, I'm guessing .
Is it nice out on the Solent at the moment? It's bit grey a few miles NW of you, but warm.

Yeah was a lovely day to be sat at anchor with a rod or two out.
I managed to review the message and then press navigate to, turns out the epirb alarm was coming from the land!!

For 3-4 hours? And why did the coast guard not pick it up? When I radios them they had no clue.

The MMSI doesn't seem to exist in the ITU database.

IIRC an EPIRB test doesn't transmit at all, a SART however does.

Yes I looked up the mmsi number too, and found no trace of it. So why do I get this message? Its not the first time either.
