Yeah was a lovely day to be sat at anchor with a rod or two out.Was it a second hand unit and the previous owner had an epirb linked to it? Either that or its picked up an epirb transmission from somewhere, then lost it.

For 3-4 hours? And why did the coast guard not pick it up? When I radios them they had no clue.Some child been pressing the Button on an Epirb at their home I am guessing
The MMSI doesn't seem to exist in the ITU database.
IIRC an EPIRB test doesn't transmit at all, a SART however does.

Yes I looked up the mmsi number too, and found no trace of it. So why do I get this message? Its not the first time either.
