Following this previous thread, I thought of posting another clips collection, before Firefly625 will eventually convince the mods to ban myself! :D
Thanks in advance for spotting the gorgeous vessel at 10", she was anchored very near my route but I couldn't see her name, and I'm curious.
I'm sure she must be well known anyway, there shouldn't be many like her around.

Well spotted Martin, again :)

Nice video M, what beautiful waters you play in. Has your boat always had the stabilisers?

Loved the dog swimming and being retrieved parts, there's nothing quite as arkward as trying to get a 40 kg soaking wet dog, clawing it's way back into a boat, without a crane!

Any concerns with the anchor amongst the rocks?

beautiful place MapisM, well done.
Care to tell us where that place is (don't care about exact location since it's unlikely I'll be visiting with a boat there, based on north Aegean, but out of curiosity)

cheers

I am so cross, I can't believe it!!

thats it, as far as I'm concerned this is the last video I'm watching of yours. Not only is the sun shining, the sea is clear and wherever you are looks absolutely superb. Then to top it off you casually pan over to the underside of your boat and what a surprise, you have stabilisers.

Gawd I'm so cross.

Pah!! Looks awful!! Must be a real trial to have to meandre thru such rubbish scenery and murky waters! Underwater footage of the Hamble to follow :).

Fantastic movie MapisM. Really enjoyed that. I love the way you get the boat in close to the rocks (at 0:25 approx in the vid) - I like doing the same

I'll reply on the stabs point on the other thread

The boat at 0.10 looks familiar but i cannot remember what it is. I'll try to think and look at some old photos on my other computer. I think I remember being near it in Monaco in about 2005. It is not Haida G, even though similar. (Haida G has just been sold btw, well in June). The boat in your pic looks about 50m (Haida G is 70+) - would you say 50m is about right?

Thanks again for the great movie!

What is your country yesod?

I often get emials from youtube just after I have uploaded video telling me my video may infringe copyrights but they're not sure. My videos do not infringe any copyright - they're all shot by me and my camera. I therefore think youtube's auto-copyright-detect software is a bit too sensitive currently

Ooops, sorry, yes I should have looked at and compared the details a bit more closely, and then I would have seen the differences! :D

I'll try another one, how about Nahlin, reported to have been bought by Mr Vacuum Dyson?

Firefly James, the underwater movie above does look very nice for sure, but I think you would probably find that an unspoiled coral reef in the tropics might have you looking for even more accolades after you have been snorkelling on it.....

Thanks folks, glad you appreciated.

Following the order of your Qs:

Banjansailor:
Yup, she's a lovely golden retriever, and actually the life jacket is also her ...uniform. In fact, it has a proper harness and handles for people to grab her, 'cause she's a civil protection trained rescue dog, whose owner is a friend of mine, the lady swimming with her in the clip. In fact, it's not by chance that she (the dog, of course! :D) barks like there's no tomorrow, as soon as she sees someone in the water.
Btw, she swims perfecty also without the jacket, but her owner wants to use it whenever going for any longish swim, just to keep her used to it...
Re.the vessel, I think you got it with your second try - more about that below.

AndieMac:
Yes, she was built with Naiad stabs. The first owner was very proud of his choice at that time, and used it also to justify his asking price... But with good reasons, I must admit. They weren't such a popular equipment in mid 90s, aside from much bigger boats.

virtuvas:
no worries, it's not a secret that my home port is in this small island, in SW Sardinia.
But the clips were taken in various places, mostly along the western coast of Sardinia.

Firefly625:
LOL, and I didn't mention that the water was between 26 and 28 degrees...!
Then again, you know you have an open invitation!

lisilou:
Ok, looking forward to your Hamble footage.
You obviously must be much better than myself with the camera, to make anything interesting out of it! :)

jfm:
Yeah, though I must admit that getting that close to the rocks with no thrusters, and shooting clips and pics in the meantime, made me a tad nervous. Good thing that there was no wind at all!
More about the vintage vessel below.

yesod:
Yep, I think that the problem is with the "soundtrack", as virtuvas said. Sorry for the inconvenience, anyway.
Where are you connecting from?

Csail:
Glad you liked the dog, a lovely animal indeed.

With regard to the vintage boat at 10", as I said Banjansailor must have won the cigar with Nahlin. A couple of pics below to better show her.
She definitely looked much longer than 50m, jfm. But I didn't really take much care, while cruising along her.
Otoh, not far from her I also spotted another big toy, Eminence (see below, almost 80m of wedding cake!), and the older vessel seemed comparably long, if not more.
So, I wasn't really surprised to see now that she's actually 90m+!
As an aside, both these yachts were moored along a coast with endless unspoilt beaches, with possibly the most crystal clear water I've ever seen.
The last of the pics below was taken in 15m of water, just to give an idea.
I can see why also the guests of those boats were interested in a swim, for a change vs. the onboard jacuzzi... :)

M, only caught up with this now. Very very enjoyable video, thanks for posting it. Everything looks absolutely fantastico.

How deep was the water in the anchor bit @ 4:05, btw?

The golden retriever reminded me of our late dalmatian, Pablo, who behaved in a very similar way but had less refined life saving skills. He once bit my leg trying to prevent me from jumping into water :-)

Great vid, many thanks.

Enjoyed the Peter Gabriel, for me matched the vid very well.

Loved the bit with doggie being winched-up, as I had wondered at the start, how he was going to climb back on-board. Did you have to crank the ambi-pur up in the saloon as doggie dried out?

Thanks Mapis. Yes, Nahlin, B-S gets the cigar. I must have got the scale wrong in your movie becuase i thought it was smaller

Talking of toys, did you see Eminence in her full toyed-out splendour? She has a huge inflatable slide from the top deck of the wedding cake down to the water, on her starboard side. It looks like an emergency escape slide from a big plane, and looks a lot of fun

LOL, quite a character, Pablo...! :D
IIRC, that anchor in the video was in a 10 to 12 metres bottom.

Good point re. the ambi-pur, but luckily the dog is very civilised and she stayed on the swim platform till dried out.
Which didn't take long anyway. We had some days of almost tropical weather, with southern winds resembling a hair dryer!

I didn't notice any inflatable slide, so as I understand from what you're saying J, I should have noticed it.
Below is the only pic where stbd side is slightly visible: it isn't deployed, I suppose?
Otoh, I did wonder what they use for waterski, 'cause both the tenders which I saw are actually too BIG, go figure!

I’m sure I saw that vintage boat in Cavtat Croatia last year or the year before, but don’t know further details.

You as a experienced diver I hope you have teached that lady in the film, how to correctly swim with the fins
(sorry for my comment, couldn’t resist, we CMAS divers are obsessed by that ;) )

Your winch, just like mine has a drum and a gipsy,
My old winch had a vertical drum on the top aswell, which I used quite often to pull the bow mooring ropes,
with the side drum its very difficult to do that , guyde the ropes, how do you do that ?
new model with top drum was not in stock, but I’m quite sure its retrofittable on my model, but will probably cost a fortune.

The stingray in the film, do you spot these often in sardegna ?
Did over 100 dives in the med , and just have seen 2 of them, one in Rosas Spain, and one in Cavtat.

A small tip about the camera work; avoid moving the camera while filming, let the people or animals on the film do the moving, not the camera, unless very very slowly.
Further then that, very nice film, and impressively clear water.
thanks for sharing
