If I was your mate and owed £50k I would stop work on site right now, specially as how said tw%t has messed you about. Does your mate have a contract (jct small works) or similar and invoicing on say 2 week valuation and interim payments ?

His company must be doing well to pay the lease figures on his Aston, but clearly not so well as to fund cheques their boss is writing!

[/ QUOTE ] Recent events show that high flying company bosses are often running on empty.

Simon, my mate has also now invoiced his company, and a nasty tatooed man is shortly about to turn up and claim the debt. If not paid by friday pm, next week the doors and windows will be removed from the property!

He's no 'Mug', but like me has taken the tw4t at face value, if any of you guys work for the public, you will know that before you even have a fighting chance of going legal, you must finish your side of the bargain.

I know the feeling about running on empty, the reality is its hard at the moment, we are getting some fantastic order values at present but the 'bread & butter' is dead in the water.

Re: Blower!

Ah yes. And he has a blowing technique too. He inserts a plastic pipe down the bog until the far end prods the offending turd, then he sort of blows jerkily down the pipe, staccato style, to dislodge the blockage. Quite amusing to watch. The piece of tube is labelled "THIS end in your mouth" :-)

TCM is on good form btw. I had a quick beer with him in PoW (London) last night. He's just had a new kitchen installed in the London flat, it's bright (as in fuschia/blackcurrent) purple! He's doing a road trip across Europe, starting this weekend. Not in an £80 banger off eBay this time, but in his Bentley convertible. He's getting the ferry to Bilbao, then driving across top of Spain, then France, Switzerland etc.

Re: Blower!

Cor, he is getting mega sophisticated these days.

A labelled pipe - no such luxuries before just used his gob and wham! Fixed.

Sounds like a nice car trip - I did similar ages ago got as far as Venice and then came back thou the alps same time of year too.

Re: Blower!

Yup! And me too. i didn't know you did kitchens when I ordered a big kitchen about 10mths ago in a prop development I'm doing up the road from you in MK6! you should advertise more on the forum!

Re: Blower!

Well this wasn't quite what I had in mind when I said the forum was getting boring; pictures of kitchens, but never mind.

My criticism of the WNS posts are they seem mainly to be about putting the boot into Tony Jones - I don't know why the poor sod bothers and I suspect other people think so too - maybe this is putting people off posting, in case they get their arses kicked too?

I was hoping for more stuff on boats, stories about trips people have made (like this one To Boldly Go ), or boats people are thinking about buying (like this one Targa 29 ) or stories about getting screwed around by buyers and sellers ( Buyer Pulled Out ) .

Anyway, just my thoughts...

Re: Blower!

Don't want to have an argument over it but folks weren't putting boot into TJ, just his ideas. But why don't you make a post about boats?! Or put some pictures up of your last trip, or whatever?

Re: Blower!

Yup /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. OK, I'm in a slooooow meeting here so I'm gonna go and post some more pictures.... gimme 10mins

Re: Blower!

But seriously, I started this thread with the question "Is it because of the weather no one has actually gone out on their boats"? Is that why there has been so little stuff about what people have been doing with their boats this year? Even people just posting pictures of their boats in the marina or servicing their engines would be interesting.

Re: Blower!

I think you are probably right scruffer. The bad weather combined price of oil, credit crunch drudgery etc, has surely meant that the aggregate amount of boating miles/hours done in 2008 has been less than 2007? Anyway, i posted lots of pics on another thread to help out. Let's see some pics or stories of your boat in the marina being serviced /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
