Why don't many people post on here?

Yes, I enjoyed that too. CX45WEK please also post your reports on the main mobo forum as well as the Thames forum as I'm sure there are many peeps like me who would be interested

Interesting, I've never used the email notification system. Another forum I used to frequent had it and it drove me crazy with spurious emails. Whole advantage of a BB forum is the lack of 'push' notifications, instead one reads what one wants when one feels like it. No clutter.

Likewise, took loads of pics up & down the thames this year which I thought may be of interest particularly to Lisilou who was asking questions in this regard, but just not got the time.
 
Just caught up with this thread. Firstly...Ducky, please post your pics and write up coz I'd love to read that. 2ndly, I fully intended to do a write up with pics etc from my DS course in May and then our cruise in co from September. I just haven't got round to it and then time passes and you think 'oh well...bit late now'. Also posting videos on here is proving a nightmare for me. I've got them all sitting waiting on both Pbucket and you tube but can never seem to embed(?) them onto here.

Perhaps its because people who view the lounge find it infinitely more interesting than yet another post on changing a fuel filter with 50 step by step photos.

Even more likely is the fact that the people who frequent the lounge are perhaps quite experienced boaters, have seen and done it before and are therefore more interested in the owners rather than the boats as the sole interest on the forum and are moved to interact with them.
Bit difficult to have a long debate about COLREGS or Anchors ............Err um.
 
Yup, the biggest problem with posting reports on trips etch is the sheer time it takes. We're all to busy with work life and boating!

Lisa, as you watch your YouTube video look at the URL at top of screen. If you cut and paste JUST the serial number (it is about 10 characters, lower case letters and sometimes a hyphen) into a post on here, in between the tags (YouTube) and (/YouTube) but using sq brackets, and not case sensitive, it will embed in a post on here

I wonder whether the viewing data on here is way too high. If you look at forum on iPhone then switch to another iPhone function, do you still count as viewing? iPhone programs stay running in the background don't they? I'm totally not sure about this though

Drives me nuts & I have enough of computers going wrong at work. I will get Sam to have a go when he comes back from Uni.
 
I don't get the issue with posting videos. It's even easier to do now than it was. Click on the insert video clip and it then prompts you to copy and paste the whole URL into the box and that's it. That's all you have to do.
 
Hi Lisa it embeds it for you, I have embedded this video by clicking 'reply to this thread' then clicking the 'insert video' icon where it then asks you to put the url of the youtube clip in so you put the whole URL from your youtube video page in then press ok, hopefully there should be a video underneath, if not, then forget everything ive said and I will hang my head in shame! ;)
