I have just returned from Holland and Belguim, the holiday was great again, marinas/harbours which are geared up for boating in a friendly way the most exspensive cost £16 thats with all water and elec (12M boat). They have a harbour master on duty all the time good looking blonde assistants at some(Not telling).
I must praise Delta for assisting me with a starter motor which had a post fail it was a case of head down bum up to get it out, wonderful people these designers Prats? engine out to get to the other.

I spoke to many Dutch people who complained of the high prices for the UK marinas and most would not make the journey, so we are letting revinue for our towns go because of high marina prices I think the local councils/port authority should look at the situation and revise there rent or lease to these people.

Bring down prices, Viva la revelution. Off with their heads etc

Surprised no replies to this yet.

I agree.
Trouble is whilst they supply at ever higher prices and we keep demanding, and they keep the marinas full, there is not much incentive for our lot to reduce prices. Quite the reverse.
If we started moving our boats to French harbours, and adopted a slightly different style of usage - smaller number of longer visits - maybe they would take note?
Personally I don't think so, because there are sufficient boat owners who appear not to care how much it costs.
