Why did no one tell me.....

but have a look at the I am new to boating thread on the Thames forum and there is a pic, you will recognise it straight off.
Nice one, thanks Richard!

Matt, you are more than welcome to pop on board for a drinkie or 3 next time you are down, my boat is pretty well straight behind yours called 'Oudrageous'. My Wife organises the marina social calender/ events thing, so PM me with your email adress and I'll get you on the list.

Make sure you pack paracetomol and worcester sauce

I have been interested to find out more about Walton Marina. I am new to boating, bought a Fletcher 19GTS at the end of summer from Bridge Marine in Walton/Shepperton. I live in Weybridge, and its a bit of a hassle going over the bridge sometimes so was wondering about moving it to the marina.

Problem is I really like the guys at Bridge so don't want to upset them! The other benefit (or at least I think it is?) is that the boat is stored on its trailer out of the water, I just call them 30 mins before I want to go out and they put it in the river ready for when I arrive.

So basically the question is do you rate the marina at Walton?

I really like the marina, mainly due to it's very unpretentious laid back atmosphere. There's a good bunch of boaters in there and everyone seems to get along well. There is a nice grassed area and a brick BBQ stand where you can have a bbq and chillout if you only fancy going our 'around the island' and back, and the toilets and showers have just been completely re-done as well. They also do a once a month coffee and cake meeting in the marina office as well laid on by the marina, not to mention the obligatory annual marina hog roast day with a good band playing as well. All in all, I really enjoy being there so heartily recommend it.
