The spelling that got me recently, but nobody seemed to notice it, was "draft" for draught. I thought the thread was going to be about American conscription, but it turned out to be about navigating French canals.

As the subject content on this Forum is nearly always informative and can concern items that could ultimately affect life and death decisions that you might make it is considered by most sensible readers/contributors that the content and the posters knowledge is more important than the authors ability to write English prose with perfect spelling.

Likewise a quickly typed reply from a knowledgable person is encouraged rather than discouraged by criticising the odd typo error.

Sorry but its monday morning and back to work so nothing light hearted there! I was responding to the original post that I suspect was a Troll rather than contributing to the fred drift!!

I would rather be sailing than at work comes to mind!

I agree. How dull that would be... reading the rants of just one pedant. No...let's open it up to everyone and opt for a pedants' forum. No shortage of contributors here to set the ball rolling.
