...being on your boat!!

Me - at work. Again. And boat is still on the hard. Depressing.

Relaunch scheduled for 1500 weds, IF everything is finished by then..

Because I have a very reasonable arrangement with the Mrs that I'll use my boat sometimes but not neglect family life / chores. As usual I didn't chose the best weather day for boating and am now getting ready to cut the grass. Good luck with the re-lainch.

You're all jolly lucky,

My boat engine's totally broken - nobody I asked really wanted to fix it, so I'm having to do it myself - engine out jobby.
Haven't "done an engine" for XXX years, so much trepidation (mostly with getting to inaccessible bits).
Anyway, engine out, thanks to Terry and Peter, now in garage at home, waiting for date for replacement unit.

When it's all complete it will be tissing with rain again, wont it...

You have my sympathy, TB: after my engine failure last year I know just how frustrating that is. Look on the bright side: at least you have the skills to fix it yourself!

And yes..... It will indeed be tissing: unless you relaunch on August 17th between 11am and 2pm when it will be summer :)

Well, I decided to get my boat lifted for the weekend to get a few maintenance jobs done but its ready to go back in tomorrow morning.

Pleasantly surprised how good she looked underneath as its two and a half years since she was last out. Pressure wash removed what little muck there was. No dings in props at all and no fishing lines or other crud round props or shafts. Anodes around 60% eroded so replaced. Fitted boarding ladder and re-fixed platform trim with a goodly dollop of Sikaflex. Had topsides cleaned and waxed professionally and looks good. Finally anti fouled just the boot-top area down to the chine so she looks nice.

So, all being well, a little shake down next weekend and then off upriver for the last two weeks of the month for the ODCC 60th anniversary "do" at a certain forumite's pad at South Stoke.
