Who's Who on ECF - the list

Lisa,
Cant believe I missed this one - is it too late ?????.
Pipedream II
Beneteau Furst 345
More info to follow ....

are we too late?

hi - If we're not too late, please could you add Annabelle to the list? - Steve, Tracey, and the furry fenders (4 x English Setters). Boat type = Bavaria 40, currently in Chatham Maritime. Happy New Year to all.:p

I will return

I note a certain Dylan W of this parish is not listed - is his because he may go to pastures new?

I am an east coaster to my very heart

love that mud - the salt marsh the curlew

might take me a while before I get back though

although following recent google related incidents it looks as though I will be spending most of this summer around the Wash - which I presume still counts as th East Coast

Dylan

Lisa, there is a file size limit of 19.5kb for pdf files on the forum. Your original file was 19kb, so perhaps you have exceeded that now. I just tried attaching the original and it worked OK (now deleted).

If it helps, i can put the file on some webspace for you, everyone can download it from there. Let me know and i'll PM you my email address.

Paul, I've dropped a line to Lisa but just to let you know, a copy has also been saved in Open Office as well as the original format, on the ECF calendar, in the documents section. Must admit it's a pain logging out of my own calendar which I use for work and loads of other stuff, but it's faster than converting to Open Office for me. Hope nobody minds, the calendar is used by quite a few so it's quite handy to have a backup copy there. I do respond to any enquiries on that thread, just mostly by PM as I'm normally pushed for time these days :o

Thanks, that saves me an email.

I don't mind the Open Office version, it's Lisa's list, i just host the file for her.

Won't Open Office open the Word doc ? Assuming not, would it help if i converted the Word file each time Lisa sent an update and hosted both versions ?

Open Office can open Word but it takes a few seconds, bit short of them here at the moment :o
Problem is Word can't open Open Office which is why I've saved it as both, just in case. Might be an idea to keep using the backup file in both formats if you don't mind taking it on, easy enough to get at the files using the calendar link. Loads more useful ap's that nice Mr Google has provided, didn't realise how useful until I started using it for work. We use the calendar for all bookings so we can update from anywhere there's a wifi link. Haven't tried it from the old eye fone yet, but will when I get a chance

I don't mind hosting the file in both formats. I take it you use software to convert the Word file to Open Office format ? Can't see it being a big deal to convert the file each time Lisa sends it to me and then uploading both formats, if that's useful/helpful ?

As far as I can tell it's an issue with Word because Open Office just automatically converts from word or excel no problem, but the others can't convert Open Office. No extra software needed, and being a tightwad I prefer something that's free, but does more than the stuff that costs wonga.

So, you load it into Open Office and save it back in Open Office format ?

Essentially, yes. It can convert to word and all sorts of other formats but it can't guarantee getting all the formatting right, so I use it to convert to Open Office then save as the same rather than lose anything that might be important to someone else. Cheapskate, I know
