Who's ready for the 2017 season!

This time around, I paid to have the polishing and antifouling done: the brown roof has come up very well.
But I did do the outdrives.
I put the props back on, then I read the procedure for changing the outdrive oil ...
"Step 1 ... Remove the props"

Looking great FP. Hopefully we can meet up soon?

My boat should be being finished off today. List of jobs

Antifoul hull
Polish topsides
Service engine and drive
Replace hydraulic steering rams
Replace gear shift cable.
Clean heat exchangers,replace end caps
Replace belt pulleys

Im hoping that after 3 years of quite large bills, this is my last large bill for a few years.

We plan to launch next Tuesday. This will be the first time ever i'll be paying someone to compound / polish the boat. I feel like i'm cheating but I have to go diving for the next few days and we have a charter next Thursday. Ho hum. Will post pics once polished and launched :D

The teak bathing platform now looks a bit better.
All I can say is "Thank goodness the original owner didn't specify teak side decks as well".

I know many on here will say that the correct colour for teak is "White", but I was starting from "Green" which is not an acceptable colour.
Sort-of-brown works for me, although my hands and forearms now look like a fake tanning disaster.

Looking good FP. I have to clean and Semco Rafiki's teak yet. Planned for Easter weekend.

Just a bit more polishing to the staboard stern and Monday she lifts in. Its been a slog thats for sure

Really excited for the season ahead

Top Speed Test ... 30.6kts, which is fine for a phat boat with D4-260's.
It's actually 0.1 more, according to the chartplotter!
Anyway, the rpm is even a hair above the max rated speed of those engines, so I suppose you are getting all they can give! :encouragement:
Youtube says the video is private, though.

PS: ops, not private anymore - I suppose you fixed that!

If it pulls a fraction over 3500rpm with less than half fuel, half water, fresh antifoul, perfect props, two people, 1 Pizza and a bottle of Amarone, then I think that's a good starting point.

Later in the season it will be full fuel, full water, beardy antifoul, wonky props, multiple people and their luggage :)

Some superb pics guys. I think I picked the weekend for getting the boat back in the water on Friday. Had a great day, engine started with no problems, so cruised over to Yarmouth and back. I admittedly got someone to do the work for me, but the black antifoul looks awesome.

I have loads of jobs for the 2017 season, bottom paint, top polish, fit generator. So I put it all off and instead found a quiet bay put a deck chair on the swim platform put my feet up and decided to start in a couple of weeks instead

IMG_1379.jpgIMG_1378.jpgAlmost there, Just got a few smallish jobs still to do. Antifouling with it on that trailer was not fun at all :)
