Its that time of year when a roll call of who is were or shuld that be where.
As normal we are staying afloat and will enjoy the empty rivers, moorings and berths with nothing to taxing attempted due to the chill factor.
What a wonderful feeling to have a days sailing then retire to the warmth of the local pub then a cosy dram aboard, wait a mo!!!!!!!!! not sure if that is a description of summer or winter sailing the last few years.

So who are we likely to bump into during the long cold dark winter ahead??????????

Very much doubt you'll bump into us unless one of us decides to be a bit adventurous, but having struggled for months to get to where we are, we will be staying in and doing as much sailing as possible. The hull has now survived 48 hours of constant battering and she's still floating so that's one more thing off my check list /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I'm staying in and also looking forward to the empty water, the cold, the misery, the increased condensation, the long nights and short days - and of course the pub fires ............. to help overcome the hypothermia /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif. Keep in touch over winter Nev, would be good to meet up sometime.

Undecided. Shall stay in for the laying down supper so that I have somewhere to lay down after it. A bit of me says take the boat out and do other things but a bit says why do I want to get nagged by Bradwell to take the mast off when I can leave the boat in and just come out for a couple of weeks in wamer and quieter weather. Don't seem to be heavily fouled (judging by boat speed) so will probably stay in for the time being.

Coming out 1 Dec or there abouts so still a few more weekends. Lots of work (nothing major just loads of things) to do this winter so expect laods of stupid questions from me!!

Like Bernie said I seem to have had quite a good season despite the pants weather. Seemed to turn a 'mental' corner sometime this year and see it all differently now! So now as long as I can get off the berth I can go sailing /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Searching around for a winter berth now. We intend to come out in Feb and go back in end of March, as I have some cunning modifications to do.

If anyone knows where I can get an 11m berth, do let me know.

Staying in this winter (as we did last winter) but will come out in March for a scrub. We'll have to take her to Titchmarsh for that as Brightlingsea doesn't have a wide enough hoist /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

We're not expecting to do much sailing this winter, however, due to the restrictions on our berth for the winter season and the strong winds that tend to make it difficult to get out anyway.

Coming out on the 20th - hope to be able to launch over Easter.

First time out in 4 years.
Usually spent pleasant winters afloat, apart from the last one. Rain and gales saw to that. Spent more time worrying about the boat than actually sailing. The snow over Easter did it for me. Time for some time out.

Bonsella is staying in. I put her up on the beach yesterday alongside the scrubbing posts at Bradwell. She was fairly clean except for a fringe of weed (on one side only!) and some strange wormy beasts living in the space between the impeller rotor and its housing. Anyway, am now all set for some autumn/winter sailing. The main challenges for winter being starting an old Bukh without pre-heat and keeping old bones on the move when it's cold.

Probably coming out in November as chances to sail 21ft light boat with no amenities puts off any crew. Looking to go back in March 2010.

Staying in till January at least. Launched in August, so it would be nice to get a bit of sailing in. Planning on moving from Park Bight to the marina. Just as well as the Ebersplutter has packed up and I'm not sure the Honda genset can manage a fan heater.
