who\'s going to tell me the bad news ? outboard engine oil.

just checked the suzuki 6hp 4 stroke, the oil in the view finder is grey opaque, not clear transparent.
so, it's either got water in :-(( or the cold weather last week changed it ???? and all i should do is run it and warm/mix it up ???

Drain it and examine the oil properly in a glass vessel. Then worry or not. How could seawater get to the sump of an O/B anyway?

ok, i put it in a glass, if it separates that's trouble i guess ??!!

If it's emulsified it probably won't separate. Suggest you change the oil, run the engine to ciculate it then change again.

Quite possibly condensation. Change the oil and try again. Emulsified, good and proper, is white.
