Who's cutting grass instead of boating this W/E?

Re: Who\'s cutting grass instead of boating this W/E?

Well Pauline, I feel I should give the person in question the opportunity and come forward and disclose himself... oo....mmm....er - or herself?

Hand in the air...

But I've got mitigating circumstances guvnor.

A) It's so tall the neighbours have lost a child in it.

B) I'm not allowed to drive the boat and MVII whilst being fun is not really suitable for live-aboard stuff.

C) I wrecked the fridge (and my finger) last weekend so we can't keep the Chablis cold whilst were on board. We could put it outside but Kev (the scoundrel) will nick it.

D) No VHF so they won't open the lock gates - I could try and slip though in the wake of that new Sessa but my lock skills are 2 for 3 in the crashing stakes.

E) Consider it "groundwork" / pre-load of brownie points so that come the time we can play more often.

F) Oh sod it if it rains we'll come.

Not me guv......

When the gardener comes the grass gets cut................and the sun will be shining this weekend, the new cockpit cushions should have arrived, the new teak wheel is ready to fit and the EA licence arrived yesterday. Would be nice if the boat was back in the water but one cant have everything!

Re: Hand in the air...

But Barry you mis-understood. If I'm going out I insist you come with me, that way I know MV11 will be safely tied to the pontoon.

What is this get at Barry day?

What happended who did I insult (apart from BurgendyBen and that was minor) recently? I will talk to SWMBO and see if she is up for it on Sunday, we could trundle down, but no promises.

As for your comment Kev if you let me on board your new toy I shall plead for a drive...

Re: Not me guv......

You own a boat and have a gardener!! I'm impressed! I have managed to perfect my grass cutting routine, all done including the boarders in and hour.
Grass cutting falls into the necessity chore category and must be done during the week to allow early departure to the boat Friday evening.

I have many chores which require weekly attendance but thankfully not many full into the neccesity category.

Re: Not me guv......

The gardens nothing to get excited about - and neither is the gardener who only comes just often enough to keep things under control. As the marina is only half an hour away from home even a nice evening during the week can be 'river time'
Talking about impressed, I'm not sure whether to be impressed or worried about your claim to be able to 'do the boarders' in an hour - how many are there and does the head know.....?

Ok ok, including the borders. How's that? And BTW I met some realy nice 'boarders' last year in Serre Chavalier - female too!

Re: Who\'s cutting grass instead of boating this W/E?

Not I, I shall be stood on some far flung, godforsaken touchline, watching my daughter play football.
On the bright side though, one of her matches is against Southampton, so we will use that as an excuse to visit friends at our boatyard.

Re: Who\'s cutting grass instead of boating this W/E?

not me. I'm off to paris with dear mrs S. Kids going to kill themselves skiing somewhere. Oh, and we'll be at the Jules Verne on Sunday - a boaty link!
