Who\'s changed user names and why?

Seems like a few old hands have changed user names recently. This is confusing for thickos like me. Could all those who've recently changed their user names tell us what they used to be called so we know who we're talking to now?
I guess it's to do with security but could somebody explain why changing user names is a good thing

Someone was recently murdered on a boat named "Sunday's Child". Kind of spoilt the name, so I changed to C_Playa (Chica Playa). I'm not a chica, but my boat is.

yes, it seemed to be the best option, but when i plugged the details in for the boat, it just said it couldnt calculate it and suggest I phone my dealer /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

On the East Coast, quite a few of us have changed to their boat names, so we can recognise Forumites more easily out on the water. I have quite a few people shouting across the water at me, often by people who post little or not at all.

Of course some, like Jimi, had their name changed to Muppet by his kids before he realised.....

I changed mine cos I was so stupid to choose the model of the boat I had as a username. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Now that I have a different boat, the old name seems inappropriate.
So now I've chosen the name of the boat as my username - mainly cos it is unique.
What does Pendana mean? The best I've managed to find out is from a Google search which says it's a Swahili verb to love each other - humping I guess! Any further research will be gratefully accepted /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have just experienced a potential issue and deleted a few details and nearly deleted daka for good.

I am going to issue a full report in the lounge once I have a reply from

He claims it was innocent but has failed to respond to my PMs.

The reason I have kept DAKA is it shows up all sorts of useless crap on a google search.

I will be much more careful in future what I say on here and who I invite aboard my boat.

Last year I also suffered a type of forum stalker, turned out so unpleasant , I moved marinas.

I think some peeps are just messing about , steeling ID as a joke but when a couple do it together you have no idea what is going on.

Blimey, DAKA, you've been having a bad time. We await your post with interest. Who was this forum stalker? A forum member or somebody who just happened to find your details from the forum?

Well, there you go it's not unique. She's the only one registered in Cowes though, and I don't suppose I'll ever bump into her Canadian namesake.

I feel rude in not answering now sorry, but I prefer to get my facts straight before I respond .
Don't read too much into it, I think it has just been a combination of 3 or 4 people messing about but when added together it becomes a concern.

Daka, you've said on quite a few occasions in recent posts that you moved marinas cos of concern re a forumite. What's all that about, must have been pretty serious for you to do that.
