OK a 2+kt tide against 20-25kts of wind but surely something wrong with the boats' tactics for the start.
I knew it was a mistake to miss Dartmouth this year....
Numbers, overall were about 10% down. Dinghies, both snr up at D'sum and Jnrs in the mouth kept up or increased but the "extra" events were down as was non IRC. A long week for a family regatta. The actual racing was stupendous however with good reasonably steady winds, although the spring tides caught a lot of people out. Lots of sunburnt faces and only one day of having some rain. 2 races a day made for tired crews.
Shoreside there were changes and generally thought to be quieter which pleased most sailing folk. I would think bar takings were good.
