On the CQR, since that appears to really be the underlying topic of this thread, many folk report no problems in years of usage. That's fine, but this experience tends to be formed in relatively easy environments. The majority of long distance cruisers very quickly find problems with it.
"Long distance cruisers"? What has the distance between anchorages got to do with it?
And what do you mean by "easy environments"? Around European waters one can find every kind of anchorage you care to think of [except, perhaps, for coral] and winds of all strengths with sudden violent changes of direction. You also encounter very crowded anchorages, where the risk of damage due to dragging is even greater - not to mention the peril of being named and shamed in the YBW forum if you do!
