Hi

Trying to source replacements but they are now obsolete. All are in place on the sail with 4 x 40mm wide flat battens, however three of the interconnecting parts went
overboard and they do not float.

Maybe someone may have some lying around.

Thanks

Who made the sail?

Does the sailmaker not have a suggestion. The sail in the image looks new and well made.

Hi

Elvstrom was the sailmaker. The batten box is obsolete. What I am hoping is that someone has some used spares they no longer need. I dont want to have to fit all new boxes
as only just got the boat back into the water following storm Eunice. Thanks

Could you have one of the remaining ones 3d scanned and 3d printed? There are some 3D printers (eg Markforged) that can embed carbon filaments in the material.

just had a quick look at KAYOSPRUCE in UK they have FB batten-boxes in stock- different appearance that I can see but may be a source of enquiry for other types, photo on their website.

Does it not say "Rutgerson" on the stainless steel part?

Rutgerson's site has many ancillary parts available - I think it may only be the batten boxes themselves that are obsolete and they you may be able to replace the cars or joining link.

I appreciate it will be frustrating if you're unable to replace or repair these, so hesitate to ask, but if you do end up replacing these, would you consider letting me have your old ones, please? I'd be happy to pay postage, of course.

Thanks for the info, mine do not have anything printed nor molded onto them. I shall keep you in mind should I renew.

They are the older style Rutgeterson batten receptacle . It available any more .
Which three bits .?Most people loose the tensioner .
Two widths available when they where made ,we save them off old sails in case we need to replace parts .
Probabally have enough for a whole one in our bits box .

If the tensioner is the wedge then yes, ideally I would like two, better still three as then I have a spare,
one of the batten box itself (that are fastened to the sail) is also a risk. width of my battens beil
ng 40mm.

thankls

i had these on our last boat.

I called rutgerson for spare parts exactly as pictured and their response was

"we don't have them anymore, buy a new sail"
