Well if it is as hot as it was on Wednesday (36 degrees) and today just as hot, when I have been on the boat, you can shove it up your Ar@e. I was so bl&&dy hot today I had to keep going at 42knts to keep cool, I honestly could not anchor up it was so bl&&dy hot, I would have physicaly cooked to death!!!!! I am going to do some research into aircon for the cuddy, I'm sure there must be a mini system somewhere!!

Well my plans of going to the Med are well out of the window, SWMBO goes every year and we were going to take the boat next year but Bo&&ocks to that!!! It is pure murder. It was costing me £60 an hour in fuel to keep cool!!!! it must be cheaper to fit aircon, park up and crawl into the cuddy.

What it has done is give me a very big lesson in being grateful for what you have, I shall NEVER wish for more sun again. I think my newly aquired dry suit and wet windy weather is the answer /forums/images/icons/wink.gif I have often wondered about changing SWMBO but I think I will be grateful for that as well /forums/images/icons/wink.gif MInd you I guess it is like being in a self service restaurant, you select what you want, pay for it, and on the way back to your seat you see what someone else has on their tray and fancy a bit of that, but it's too late /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif Anyway I can't wait for winter but then we always have November in the Caribbean, and SWMBO has booked us again for this year!! but that is even not as hot as what we have had here recently.

I may seem ungrateful but it really has been ridiculous with this heat, even the midges in Scotland look appealing now /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Hi Pete & Fred, its been pretty hot here too, yesterday we collected a Spanish family 6 adults 3 kids, from Sotogrande for a whole day charter. Although the Grandad sounded like the godfather (yes I know hes Italian) Grandma ruled, first thing she wanted was the monster bimini on the Fairlines flybridge taken down.

This meant Neil spending most of the day cruising into the blazing sun and wind with no cover, he ended up looking like a panda.

Anyway, took them around Gib to see the Dolphins which thrilled the kids, then dropped anchor near Soto, yes its b****y hot when you stop the boat.
They had lunch and a swim then we went to a nice bay near Estepona for more anchored sun. By the time we had dropped them at Soto and returned to Duquesa it was about 7pm, and as soon as you stopped at the berth the still heat hit you again.

Nevermind next charter is on mine so when we stop at anchor I'll shut the cabin doors and turn on the AC and let them get on with it.

AC in the cuddy indeed I trust that was tongue in cheek? CGN

Hi Clive,

I certainly see why you would need AC down there!! I could not imagine trying to sleep in my cuddy in the summer heat of the med without AC. I wasn't joking about AC, if it can fit in my car i see no reason why it can't fit in theboat /forums/images/icons/wink.gif. I must say this last week with all that heat and sun has really made me think again. I have even been driving the cars with the roof up and the AC on, as I thought I was frying when caught up in a jam on the M25 with the roof down, I had to put it up to survive /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

It is 7am now and the blasted sun is out already, I have another full weekend on the boat, so I guess a big hat and loads of dosh to keep me going at 42knts for 8hrs a day will be required, plus spare water tanks to keep me hydrated and loads of sun screen /forums/images/icons/wink.gif I don't think I will wear the dry suit today, that might make it a bit cooler /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

I took my new Windy out for her maiden voyage on Sat and guess what...her previous owner (kind fellow) had left the fridge full of Stella Artois. Something to cool down with.
