Who had an LED anchor light at Walton?

My first night at anchor was very easy - I didn't think about it at the time (or anything else!).

My fridge was running and has previously run for longer without flattening the battery. My anchor light plugs into the dry-plug that feeds the bow nav lights. In the morning the domestic battery was down to 4.5 volts The fridge switches off at 7 volts so the culprit is the anchor light.

Which LED light when at anchor?

Yes it was me.
It is a shower proof lanten type thing.
I purchased it from a local camping shop in Cambridge. (Simpers)
It uses 4 D cell battries,
Not sure how many nights I can get out of the battries, 2 so far.
Seemed to be bright enough.

The fully tooled up technogadget Full Circle has a good old fashioned Hurricane Lamp.
A Feuer Hand from Germany. Dont bother with the Chinese ones they leak. Lovely Citronella lamp oil to keep the mozzies at bay too.

It just looks so much nicer.

New this season a multi LED camping light from the range, 3aa batteries lasted over 8 nights so far and still going strong.
Looks a bit like a giant suppository, but bright. IIRC cost about a fiver. Not on website but from local store.

We have one too - and it was on display at Walton for the pirate weekend. It cost about £12 for two from Coopers of Stortford (mail order) - runs on 4 D batteries, and one set of batteries lasted for very many nights last year.

One even survived (just) being dunked in the sea and bashed against the hull when the handle gave way in a gale. We dried it off, renewed the batteriaes, and it lit up, so it must be pretty tough!.
