Hi All,
my cockpit vinyl seats are starting to look a liitle dirty and its getting harder to remove the dirt by cleaning. (they are 5 years old but always covered when not in use).
Who knows a solvent that will rip them back to brilliant white and where can I get it?
I have toyed with the idea of using car tyre shine which just rips dirt off but may probably dissolve the vinyl.
I`m sure some of my esteemed engineering/scientific minded colleagues will have the holy grail answer. Please help!
Many thanks folks.

Magic sponge and ribshine works wonders. Spray on a protector afterwards to help give a seal against future grime.

Magic sponges off Ebay, Ribshine and protector in your local swindlery.

We use a cockpit cleaner from Halfords. £3 ish a bottle. made in the USA. Works really well, and leaves no residue. Spray on and wipe off. Simples. Apols am out of the country for the next 2 weeks, but if interested, pm me and I'll check when back in Blightie.

Just recently posted the same question....

went with a few recommendations and tried loads of other stuff too...

by far the best results were with Cif worked into the grain / piping / seams with a nail brush.

Ah yes. Mucky Farters International Boat removing elixiour. Cant get the strong poision now. I still use the weaker addition though.

I suppose I could get the strong stuff . If I tried hard ennogh.

But delivery is more expencive than the sruff,

used to use a tub of Astonish (oven cleaner). Dont know what it is, but you can clean your hands with it, so it isnt that scary ! About £1 a tub. Cleans up well, but you do need to wash out all the gritty particles afterwards.

TFR or ribshine and of course the magic sponge which is marketed as erase away pad sold in home bargains for 1.00 each, yes a bargain as they were 5.00 at boats shows!!
