Since when did a spinnaker or a reacher have a pole clipped to its clew with its whole luff restrained by the forestay?

How is this snatch block set up, John? I have a pole with pistons and a snatch block on a becket - are you just suggesting it's clipped on to the piston? It looks a bit clunky and likely to tear one or the other apart.
