Which yacht? Two aft cabins, less than 36 ft

According to Dick Durham, the 2 x 1.6 metre berth plus wardrobe, standing headroom and seat on a 35ft Etap 35i is "no more than a giant locker".

He'd hate the cavern of the Bav37 aft cabin then ... no room at all .... ;)

For the OP - make sure your forward V berth is big enough - some boats seem to assume that it will be occupied by children (or short people) so is only 6' to the point - problem is you can't get 4 feet down there ...

Of course you can! 4 ft from six, leaves 2 spare!

Would you mind suggesting boats so I can draw up a list to reserach further.
Jeaneau 37'
I realise the 36' you state as your maximum but these boats have now been about for over ten years. Although not the best for ocean going, they are good for close offshore/channel hopping, or in the Med' and have those two good rear cabins and many have two heads.
there are plenty about. e.g. see......

I've spent 3 holidays in a friends which was an ex charter boat which was in remarkably good condition and at the right price. It had a slightly different layout in that the galley was the whole length of the saloon on the port side with two heads, and made for excellent family or 'shared' couple sailing.

Strange comment. Does he sleep horizontally or vertically?
Yes, there are some lazarettes a meter above your head but so what?
I fit perfectly (horizontally!) in any of the two aft or the V berth of my 36ft boat, there's enough standing headroom in front of the berth for me (I am 1.88m) but usually I don't stand on the berths.

Another vote for the Bene 361. Lots of space, excellent storage and she is quick. Have to start reefing when it gets to F5 but it is not a problem.

Twin stern cabin version is preferred to the single. When not in use for sleeping it is superb for extra storage. Keeps the rest of the boat tidy.

Well worth the extra cost over the 331.

Not according to the test in YM May 2002 which shows the length as 10.96m or 35'11".

That might have been the newer model with the heads up the front and L-shaped galley. The previous 36 hull went on to become the 37 in 2002 before being replaced. The documentation for mine shows a hull length of 11.1 m and LOA of 11.48m. Unfortunately most marinas also seem to know this and charge for a 12m annual berth. :(

That test was the "new" 36, which replaced the 34....

The 34 is a more solid boat IMHO but the 36 is more fun, and quite quick...

The 34 would probably be my first choice...
Circa 1999....
