Which Yacht Club?

Hi all, I'm looking to join a yacht club on the east coast - now bearing in mind I live in Brentwood, Essex does anyone have an opinion on which is the best/most social/competitive yacht club to join? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

what sort of boats do you want to be competitive in?

Cruisers?
RORC?
Dragons, Squibs, RS400s?
you get the picture.

It will be one of the 4 Burnham Clubs because of both competitiveness and location....

You definitely want one of the Burnham clubs....

Thanks for all the replies - I was a member of HPYC and used to race out of there a few years back. Its probably just a bit to far - so Burnham sounds like the way forward. Regarding what I want to be competitive in then I think cruisers and RORC would be the go. Don't have a boat of my own - so looking for mast work on someone elses.

Royal Burnham another choice, though not mine. Cruisers, EAORA . Also RBOD, RS400 Squib

Leaves the crouch for dead as a river to sail on although not so much racing - you pays your money (much less of it though) and takes your choice.

I would offer a place on my yacht during Burnham Week but as a Bristol fan you may have to change your allegiance from B**h.
