I have recently cancelled my subs for PBO because I felt it was being "dumbed down" far too much. Alot of the practical articles are at a very basic level - this may be fine if your boat DIY skills are all but non-existent, however if you are already able to service a simple outboard engine you might not learn very much.
I chose to keep YM because it is bit more varied and more Cruising oriented - basically it provides useful information and knowledge that I do not have myself.
Also worth bearing in mind that there seems to be alot of duplication between the two mags in terms of tests, news and adverts!!!
You really have to decide what type of articles will benefit you most and choose the appropriate mag.
