Which windvane system should we get for our yacht?

I've no experience with the Pacific Plus but have heard good things of it. If the system doesn't come with a manual, all the fitting and use info can be downloaded from the same site I mentioned earlier. From my experience, Peter Forthmann (peter@windpilot.com) will also be more than happy to respond to any queries you may have. His English is excellent.

By the way, thought of a name for it yet? They seem to respond to the anthropomorphic touch.
 
Downwind, with low apparent wind, seems to be the achilles heel of most systems, though I find my Hydrovane copes well if the sea is fairly smooth. Tying some spinnaker cloth or a plastic bag to the top of the vane is a trick to increase the vane response in light winds.
