Which Smartphone?

I've used most providers over the years, orange, t mobile, O2, Vodafone.....as I don't live in a city and my cruising grounds inc. west coast of Scotland, north Wales, at many remote places I'm used to poor reception and 3G.....forget it. I was always hunting for wifi hotspots, etc.

I've recently changed to EE and I'm very impressed, so far even outside cities and other good reception areas I'm getting 3G, marvellous and I'm not always looking for a wifi to connect my phone to! At the moment I think it's a game changer.......I'm sure Vodafone and O2 will catch up in a year or so......but for now EE is significantly better.

I even get 3G on my tub. I'm really happy......

As for phone choice, I used to just want a phone and my view was all the extras like cameras were just fluff, but about 5 years ago I got an iPhone and now I'm a complete convert.

My new iPhone 5, OK was expensive, but is just superb, the camera is so good it negates me carrying around my compact camera and for web browsing, email, responding to this forum I rarely use my PC now.....

I admit though, if you are a bit of a tight arse it's probably not the option for you.........

But EE is simply Orange & T-Mobile rebranded...

Samsung Galaxy SII

I have just myself taken the plunge after years of utilising Samsungs cheapest hanset options combined with an o2 simplicity deal.

The simplicity deal provides a sim only contract on terms of a rolling month contract or a 12 month contract.

My 12 month contract gives 300 x network minutes, 500 o2 minutes and unlimited texts... there is also a small data allowance with this. £10.50 permonth

You can the add bolt ons to the tariff be it extra data, foriegn minute allowance etc. I have simply bolted on there £6 data package (this gives me more than I will ever need!)

I was lucky enough to pick up the handset of a mate who is up to speed with technology and had got a new handset. I didnt want to tie myself into any long term deal so like the flexibility and realative low cost of this option.

The handset is easy to use and the camera excellent... I have added screencover and protective case.... hopefully it will survive!!
