I have found a leak in the join where my wooden coachroof meets the compainionway slider.

I have cleaned the area and used liberal quantities of Captian Tolly's Creeping Crack Cure to ensure that any seepage through the ply coachroof is sealed. I now need to seal the joint.

Which (brown) Silkaflex should I use, 291?? Advice please.

No no no. don't buy or use seckaflex. Use trek 7. It's a half the price, available in builders merchants, can be used in the wet even underwater, and its a sealant and adhesive. CT1 is similar. No not sick-a-expense!

weird that chandlers choose not to stock it then if it's just as good for marine use. In my experience Chandlers like to carry as many things people want on their boat as possible!

Chandlers in Brighton Marina stock CT1 and swear by it.

That's fair enough then. Trouble is that this forum brings lots of people who assume that because it looks the same it is the same/as good. Sandtex paint is a particularly regular example of this :D

why use a cheaper copy ? one tube goes a long way I was happy to pay £11 for silkaflex 291
