So, many posts on the considered opinions of the mass forum seem to advise you to buy almost every manufacturer n the whole industry.

Perhaps the best approach is to walk around a boat show and buy the one that will give you most pleasure every time you look at it. Assuming they all do the job you want ( and only you know what that is ) you might as well be proud of it.

One days when it is costing you twice what you anticipated, at least you will be able to say " but isn't she lovely?".

Reminds me of other things in life.

Have a look at the Maxi 1000 or Maxi 34. This month's Sailing Today has an article about the 34. They both should be bang in budget and both are beautiful sailers.

Even a Maxi 1050 should be in budget. Worth looking at one even though it is below 36'.

That's ironic - we're going after a Dehler (a bit older than boats you're looking at) because my wife likes the look of the interior. Ok, it's not the only factor. Which one was it that she didn't like?
