Which sealant for through hull transducers

As per title really, I’m guessing some sort of Sikaflex to seal the new through hull transducers as I am upgrading instruments.

What do the manufacturer's instructions say? From memory, NASA are very particular that you use silicon for their log transducer skin fitting. Airmar I note says "marine sealant" so it's not critical. If it were me fitting Airmar transducers I'd probably use OB1, as I always have a tube on board, but I'd accept I wouldn't get them out again without destroying them.

Butyl in a tube is my "go to" for fittings above and below waterline.

Just wondering if " Plumbers Mate " is butyl and would do the job . I used it recently for sink drain outlets.

CT1 or OB1 would be my choice.

For more years than I care to remember I have used Sikaflex 291 or Puraflex 40 for all above and below water fittings. They have always performed well. I do use OB1 for many jobs and find that pretty good too, especially as it can be used on wet surfaces. I have had mixed results with non-curing sealants such as butyl, so I don't use it now.
