Evening all,

Currently looking at getting something a bit bigger and have taken a shine to the Fairline Corniche. Below I'll post links to two I've been looking at.

One is slightly older than the other and is on outdrives instead of shafts as the newer one is and finally the older one has less powerful engines but other than that there isn't a lot between them other than price... £12k difference!

For me I think I'd prefer shafts as less to go wrong than an outdrive boat plus my current boat has a bow thruster which neither of these do so shafts should make close quarter manoeuvres easier but £12k is still £12k.

Anyone have any words of wisdom?

I'd go for the 41B they have a solid reputation. But if you want a bit of wisdom based on very real personal experience is that 12k may not make any difference in the financials at all if that is what is bothering you. Old boats can be very expensive to maintain, few are truly turnkey, and if anything no cheaper than a much newer boat over a 5 year cycle unless you are very lucky. All it does is get you on the water quicker if you are on a budget. And it doesn't even have to be engine related. Just a cosmetic lift of new vinyls and canvas could eat that amount up no problem.
