If you were thinking of hiring/buying a life raft you should have checked out Norwest Marine as they only deal in ISO 9650-1 life rafts and sell them cheaper than what Plastimo sell there shocking coastal raft for.
I originally owned a 4 Man Plastimo Cruiser in a container and when it was due for its service I asked Norwest Marine if I could see it inflated, which they very kindly allowed me too. I was shocked to say the least. It has no retro tape on the canopy, no light and a very very basic rorc pack. As soon as they went through all the equipment with me I told my husband that I wanted to change life rafts. They had one of there ISO 9650-1 rafts on the workshop floor next to our Plastimo and there was no comparison.

Anyone who is considering buying/hiring a life raft make sure it is an ISO approved raft. If you buy an Arimar or Lalizas your playing with fire a kids paddling pool is better at sea than them. At the recent sea safety trials in Dorset the SeaSafe came 2nd out of 16 rafts. The SeaGo didn't even inflate, The Plastimar went down after 45 minutes. Honestly its not worth penny pinching on saftey equipment. ISO all the way!! www.norwestmarine.co.uk
