I've had good service from my lopolites. When the first one failed (out of guarantee of course) I wrote to the company and recieved a substantial discount on the price of the replacement. It was a modified unit which continues to give good service to date and it had the added advantage that I've not had to go up the mast for ten years to change a lightbulb.

The Nasa Supernova top unscrews. On the tricolour anyway, I replaced the (untinned) cable. Anchor/tri looks identical design.

Very happy with the Tri, bright, low power, all that you expect from LEDs.

So I could connect my existing tinned cable, yay.

How does it connect inside the unit, is a screwed terminal or soldered?

Pretty sure it was soldered direct to the board, istr it wasn't that bad to get at though.
