If we drive to O2,park car and catch clipper to Excel, which landing stage is nearest to LIBS and how far to walk .

For Gawds sake

Hi
It might be easier to get Jubilee line to Canning town then change onto DLR and it takes you right to the door

Just had a look on the interweb, what a palaver,Londons biggest exibition centre and no easy access by water, what a joke.
Going to drag out the wheels, its only about 25 mins away from home but...... might go via the Woolwich Ferry, not been on it for about 5 decades.Make a change from dodging it when coming up the river. :)

If you are going by Clipper you go to Canary Wharf then go up the steps to the shuttle bus. (Goes from Westferry Circus).

Have a look on Thames Clippers website for more info and prices...

Looking at the map, and not really being familiar with the docks area, it looks as if the only access to Excel by water is through the lock at the eastern end of King George V then through Royal Albert and then into Royal Victoria Dock,

However, at the western end of Royal Victoria Dock google earth and the map clearly show what appears to have been a lock directly into Royal Victoria which is now largely covered by car parks. Google Earth shows a gaggle of barges clustered around what would seem to be the entrance area.

My drift is fairly obvious ........

Incidentally, is access by boat through the eastern end actually possible or is Gallions Point Marina the limit?

The old jalopy it is then.

driving up on Friday.Crack of lunchtime start and visit to a museum which is close by apparently ?
