We had no cleats for our genoa sheets so we used a tugmans hitch, you can see it tied here:

I agree and often wonder why people use bowlines for mooring. Perhaps it comes from so many people who come into yachting mooring onto floating pontoons where there's never too much danger of the line being loaded up when you come to slip.+1 for the second comments.
I quite regularly use RT2HH for attaching to overnight moorings (along with an additional slip loop beside it, spreading the load 3 ways)
The 2 hitches are easy to free, and a bit of friction on the loop allows you some control before pulling it all free.
Bowlines are great, but a pain to undo if UNDER load.
Un-doing lines under load is not a great idea anyway. It' s probably safer to add a slipped line to allow you to unload the knotted one easily. Then Slip off under control.?

Fully agree. I was taught to tie mooring lines with a RT2HH's at the shore end as it is easier to undo when under full load if required, and avoids spare warp lying around on the pontoon.I agree and often wonder why people use bowlines for mooring. Old hands at sailing who moor up to tidal walls invariably use RTTHH when tying lines to mooring rings as you might find yourself having to adjust or release aline under load and the bowline is a PIT Proverbial when its loaded up. Sometimes a bowline is necessary; e.g. when using bowline to make a loop to drop over a bollard but it means you have to make sure that its possible to adjust the line from the on board end when its under strain.
Its why I teach the characteristics of the knots as well as how to tie them when I run sailing courses.
