Which is the best Wheelclamp.

I have used a Motorbike chain and a rigging cable strop on my outboard.
My reasoning is that what cuts one may not cut the other. As a thief will be bobbing about in a dory or something it all becomes too much hassle and they move on to a outboard with an "approved" outboard lock.

Ubergeekian explains why simple hardening won't help much against a modern thief. I wonder if the SS folks assume attackers still only have hand tools?

The bit of my post you deleted to make your point did state the insurance companies trust their rating, but do specify gold not silver if there is serious money on the table. The rating has to do with the time it takes to get through.

Personally for most things I go for what will defeat the casual theif, most profesionals can get round most things.
