which home build dingh for beginer?y

hi all, im new here! im just wanting some advice on building a sailing dinghy in my garage, im a complete novice to boat building but am a time served fitter+turner so have the common sense! could any one recomend a good boat for me to begin with? the simpler the better and the smaller really. thanks, hope someone can advise me!

The Mirror is the classic home build boat. 10 ft long, good sailing for adults and kids, light and robust, car toppable.

Try these sites, also you should contact a more dinghy oriented forum. Below they offer kits, don't know if you just want plans, but no doubt Trident could advise.

hi Jay,

the simplest would be a pram with a flat bottom like the Optimist.

A slight vee bottom as in the American Sabot(8 feet, sails two)
looks nicer and sails better.

I had something similar and added two take-offable feet.

sails, rows and motors quite well,( though I don't have a motor).

I use it to go exploring (around islands).

Gotta be the first sailing dinghy to have
cicumnavigated Cocos Island!
