Which electric pump for sea water tap in galley?

Fed up with pulling the Whale pump up and down to rinse with sea water. I've got a little PAR MAX-1 spare which is really intended for fresh water. Would this be ok or do I need something with a switch or maybe there is a more suitable pump.

Any help appreciated.
 
Par Max 1 will be perfect.

My fridge has a water-cooled heat exchanger, through which I pump seawater whenever the thermostat turns it on. The existing pump, which I think is a Shurflo, is a little big for the job, with a high current drain. I have been looking around for one that consumes less and have hit on the Par Max 1 as it uses a lot less than anything else. I spoke to Jabsco about it, who confirmed that it will be fine in this duty.

It comes either with or without a pressure switch. I would go for the one with, but you will need a tap with its own on/off control, just a normal tap really. Otherwise you could use the pump without the pressure switch, keep the manual pump but you would need an electric switch. This might not be very easy to control.
 
We use a parmax 1. It has not been in use for long, but so far it works perfectly. It pulls sea water up from over 1m but still works well provided there are no air leaks. I asked Jabsco if it was sutable for use with sea water. They replied:

We describe it on the site as a freshwater pump because that is what it is used for 99% of the time but the springs and screws are 316 stainless so it is also OK for seawater.
 
Instead of a straight tap we use a simple shower hose and spray. It is very useful for cleaning all sorts of things as well as a primary fire fighting tool.

We live aboard full time in the Asia region so use the salt water constantly. A word of warning - do not use them in marinas - the quality of the salt water is not good.
