Which coastal liferaft ?

I gave my 20 year old avon to our local sea school where I completed the RYA sea survival course. If I'd known I could get £120 for it.......!

That course by the way was by far the most useful of my RYA experiences. Good fun if you can get some mates along, watching a mates girlfriend dragging our 17st friend in to the life raft was entertaining to say the least.

I have an Ocean liferaft
I have it serviced by Premium at Burnham on Crouch
This seems to be a bit expensive due to foreign fittings etc & a bit non standard
From memory last 2 year service was circa £250-00 & took several months due to problems out of premium's control
I think I would have been better off with a better quality one in the first place
Premium inflated it for the wife at first service & she video'd it
Bit disapointed with entry system. Would be very difficult to get in
Look at P21 of this. Just For your info.http://www.maib.gov.uk/cms_resources.cfm?file=/LadyHamilton_BlitheSpirit.pdf

What's wrong with your wife's entry system ?

I think it would require a lot of tugging & pulling to get in. The equipment for hooking ones feet seem a bit poor.
Must be a massive relieve to achieve it & I suspect extremely exhausting.
Not the sort of thing one would want to do every day.
At least not at my age anyhow . Especially single handed
I suppose that is why some people feel the need to practice
