Which chemical toilet

I always strapped the portable down in the days I had a boat with a portable. I removed the traditional sea toilet and replaced it with a portable bought for £15 at Gosport Boat Jumble. As long as spares are available and the 2nd hand loo is not too obviously pre-used(!) this seems a viable course to follow.

Is there any reason why you couldn't use the aqua chem chemicals with a standard bucket with a lid? Not to chuck it obviously... but for overnight use...

I'd like to get at Thetford 135 but I think I'll struggle to fit it in...

Not wishing to put it too crudely but I think you might regret any "spashback"!!

hehe, that's a point... still if it's formaldehyde it will at least keep one well preserved....

We used to use a Elsan Mini Toilet for camping at one time. Just a ( square) bucket with a seat and lid fitted to it.

Still got it somewhere and it might yet find its way on to the boat.
