Which camera. Fz82 or fz 1000?...

Bit of a quandry , i sold my panasonic g5 and assorted lenses , i was too lazy , decided to get a bridge , im fully hooked on panasonic so its a choice between the forthcoming fz82 and the fz1000 ,

Both have pros and cons , fz82 has enormous 60 x telephoto , (1200 mm egiv ) but small sensor ( do i need such long reach , is it even useable on a boat ) , other has 16 times 400 mm equiv ) zoom , but far superior , fz 82 cheaper 2 yr warranty , fz1000 dearer 5 year warranty . Both do 4 k pictures and video .

Fz 82 isnt coming out now untill end april and im getting impatient , have an ex display fz1000 on reserve till mon .

Any ideas ,

Photo from boat of boats , wildlife , scenery ,trips ashore etc are my bag ,hence asking in the maritime environment , ive a tough tg4 for the wet stuff .

Fz82 has just arrived at jessops , only got till end of monday to decide , any advice much , much appreciated !!!!!!!!

How often will you want to zoom in at much more than 16x? The 60x seems to be the only bonus with the 82? Only you can answer that, perhaps by asking yourself how often you have wished for a much higher zoom.

I have 20x on my compact, and it gets really close at quite a distance.

I'm a long-term bridge camera user, currently on a Fuji. As described, I'd stick with the FZ1000. As Richard says, how often would you need a 60X zoom, and really you're down-speccing by ending up with a smaller sensor on the FZ82. I don't see the attraction.
If you switch, I might be interested in your FZ1000 !

Im trending towards the 1000 too , previous 4/3 rds camera i sold had a 200mm lens and the 1000 is twice that , w

Done , fz 1000 , stunning day here in old edina ,cant wait to get snapping ,

Couldnt wait till i got home to buy ,so bought new in jessops here , and got £60 stand thrown in .

If anyone wants the fz1000 i have on reserve at currys braehead let me know , its a clearance one £40 off or more if you haggle ,ex display .

Also i havent cancelled the fz 82 on reserve at jessops yet if anyone wants that . In short supply ,just released
