I know this is opening a can of worms but we are considering moving over from sail to power and and would like to tap the forum knowledge.

We are looking for a semi displacement boat from 28ft to 35ft with a cruising speed of at least 15KT must have a nice double cabin and preferably another twin/bunk cabin. One or two diesel engines. Budget is probably around £50,000 to £60,000. Will be based in the Solent. What does the forum think?

Fairline Turbo 36
Fairline Sedan 36
You will be very hard pushed to find any UK boat of this flavour with single engine apart from the the odd custom boat for use on the inland waterways such as the Thames.
A Broom of some sort might rattle your chain, but newer ones are serious money and the interiors of old ones resemble medieval bedchambers .Most Broom owners think 1940s décor is bit too avant garde :)

The OP said semi displacement. How about an Aquastar 33 aft cabin or Nimbus 27 + 31

Nimbus. You'll like the look and feel after a sailboat and one bigger engine means cheaper running costs than the older twin engine boats mentioned already and less of a money pit.
Or a bigger Hardy sedan. Less about though for sale.

I'd agree with Deleted User on an nimbus 310. There's a nice looking one on jamesdickens at the minute. Looking at something a little older you might grab a Broom 33 or 10/70 at the higher end of your budget. Birchwood ts37 also worth a look. I'm not sure a Merry Fisher is ideal size wise.
