Which Bend...hitch... knot am I looking for?

I second rainwater pipe - that fitted my Jimmy Green danbuoy. It was shed size downpipe, not house, if I recall.

okay, I will have another look, I have not heard of shed downpipe before so I will ask at our local building yard. TY.

I find that the plastic clips can let go a big (RORC) type Danbuoy once the boat starts pitching and thumping. I use elastic to hold it in to the plastic clips.

These clips are excellent, but they do let go as you say. Elastic was not adequate I found.

I had to drill either side at the end of the 'jaws' and put a cable tie through.

It then becomes too permanent for a dan-buoy.
