Which 42-50ft Flybridge ?/ Which Engine options? (£150 - £200k)

Thanks for the replies - and PMs. Not been around much as have been decluttering, painting, mowing, etc.

Long story short; I think an Azimut 46 in Sant Carles would pretty much tick all the boxes for us. It probably wont be something we do this year tbh - but will spend this year looking for AZ46s to have a nose round, and try to book a long weekend near Sant Carles to have a nose.

Cheers DW
Good call on the Azi

Unless the third cabin is absolutely essential then I would have to say the Princess 42 is a great boat in that size / price bracket . Well made , plenty of space and with the TAMD 75s just cruises along all day at 24 knots with no drama at all . ( did I mention I own one :D ).

I would add Ferretti 460 to the list. Slightly smaller than the 480 but with a more modern interior and still three cabins.

Yup, indeed. The yard was one of the most Venetian of the Venetians.
Located along the lagoon mainland coast, but right in front of Venice.

Re. the semantic debate, I'll go fetch some popcorn...

They where becoming popular all around Italy in the 1990s and also you could see some of them in the SoF and Greece.
The 52 was the export DP model, and after that the 55/56. You see some 52s in Sicily and in South Italy.
The problem as was the same with VZ is also the limited production number.
The bigger boats they did (50 feet plus) the harder it become with the old premises to make nos. I think they could build about ten boats a year.
But the 48 (launched in 98) was a huge success for them and then the growth started.
It was a boat on the three cabin layout and platform very similar to the 1992 launched Gobbi 44 Sport, and then followed by the nineties Fairline 48 Targa.
(twin sister cabin with twin berths, and small tender garage). It came later of the bunch.

The Dalla Pieta 48 had the more simple layout of the Gobbi and Fariline with the sharp cutting hull DPs are known for.
Amazing boat, with the only real competitor being the Rizzardi 45 Incredible launched in 2004.
