I know a really good Nicholson 32 for sale, your budget, in Kent. Great boat for Scotland, I always thought. But not fast in light wind

I’d agree with suggestions of Hanse or Ben First of 30ft length or so. They won’t feel sluggish after OP’s Parker 275, and aft cabin means you can ‘get jiggy wid it’ without the passion killer of lying two foot from the heads. Always fancied a Fulmar but too much fiddly wood on deck to varnish for my liking.

If you tried to ‘get jiggy’ with anyone in the aft bunk of a Hanse 301 you’d both have to be chopped out of the boat by a fireman with an angle grinder. The greater part of the berth has a headroom of about 18 inches.

Sure, they are slow, but at least you will be nice and warm in the wheelhouse.

Plenty of good suggestions here . Mine:
Mk 2 Halmatic 30.
+ Solid, sail beautifully, "spacious" seperate heads, massive locker space, decent chart table.
- Not good in reverse. Poor saloon table.
As with all boats, finding a good one is the trick.

BTW, how on earth can you afford a divorce, a new woman AND a boat?
