Have gone through 2 Jabsco macerator pumps (1 1/2 inch inlet with 3/4 outlet) recently and wonder if anyone has a better recommendation for another pump. Requirements are that it is self priming to 3 feet and works! Even better if it has an indefinite run dry capacity.
All suggestions other than liquid diets are welcome.

Unless you really want maceration, which is really not often actually needed then a Whale black water pump is exactly what you need, will run dry for extended periods and has a really good lift.

David thanks, was coming to that conclusion myself although I had read that the internal plastic cogs can wear on the Whale Gulper.

Yes as with all moving parts wear is always present but parts are readily and cheaply available, many of my live aboards swear by them for waste transfer and would laugh at macerators.

same problem - jabsco pump ran for around 2 hrs in total. Then happen to notice the long bolts appeared to be loose , in fact 3 out of the 4 had broken.Got replacements but made of same rubbish metal so am looking for something a little less frightening ( no prizes for imagining what would happen if all 4 had gone!)

That's a typical/common problem with these Jabsco pumps - poor quality metal. At next service - or even if you buy a new one - then also buy stainless steel threaded rod and cut to length and replace (there are 2 different lengths required to replace the 4 poor quality ones).
